I would be delighted to speak at your event. This page provides information to help you assess whether I would advance the objectives you have set for your event.
Experienced Conference Speaker
I have made over 400 presentations at academic and professional conferences as well as hospital grand rounds and related events across the United States, in Canada, Europe, Asia, and Australia.
These include invited presentations at leading law schools and medical schools, such as: Yale, Harvard, Stanford, UCLA, NYU, Dartmouth, University of Pennsylvania, University of Minnesota, and Ohio State. These also include invited presentations to leading healthcare provider organizations such as Kaiser, HCA, Cedars-Sinai, and the Mayo Clinic. The complete list and select videos are here.
Most of these presentations earned CME, CLE, CEU, and/or other professional development credits. I would be delighted to participate in your event too.

Speaking Fees
Averaging invitations and engagements from the past 24 months, the customary fee for preparing and delivering a one-hour grand rounds presentation is $2000 to $2500.
Speaking Fees - Extras
Special Programs
Honoraria for other recent events and programs that involved more planning and/or more presentations and meetings have ranged to $5000. For example, a half-day "course" requires substantially more preparation than a one-hour keynote presentation.
Discounts & Waivers
The above schedule represents recent practice among hospitals, universities, and professional associations. But I regularly discount or waive honoraria for smaller organizations, especially those located in warm places in winter months.
Formula for Speaking Fees
A one-hour talk often breaks down into more than 50 hours.
Email correspondence and completing forms with organizer (2)
Preparing and editing slides and design (35)
Practice (5)
Travel (6)
Conference (8)
Basic Expenses
In addition to providing an honorarium, it is expected that basic coach travel, meals, and lodging will be reimbursed.
Planning Checklist
In planning and preparing for a presentation, it is important to know:
1. The purpose of the event. Is it to inform? To persuade? Or to build good will? What are the CME/CLE/CEU objectives?
2. Who is the audience? What is the size? What disciplines are represented? Is participation captive or optional? Are they paying? What are their goals?
3. What are the logistics? What is the event date? Time? Duration? Location? Will there be audience polling? Are there pre- and post-presentation events?
